Wet Rooms & High Demand
Kitchen & Bathroom Electrics in Bristol
Kitchens and bathrooms place the heaviest demands on a home’s electrics and have the strictest rules. We design and install the circuits, lighting and protection they need, usually alongside a refit or as part of a wider rewire.

Kitchen Electrics
A modern kitchen may run an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer, boiling-water tap and a row of countertop appliances at the same time. Old ring circuits shared with the rest of the ground floor were never designed for that load. We plan dedicated circuits for the cooker and fixed appliances, sufficient socket outlets positioned where you will actually use them, under-cabinet and ceiling lighting on separate switching, and isolation switches where they are needed.
The best time to do this work is before the new units go in. We coordinate with your kitchen fitter so that cables, back boxes and isolators are in the right places before the carcasses are fixed.
Bathroom Electrics
Bathrooms are divided into zones that dictate what equipment can be installed where and how it must be protected. Electric showers need their own suitably rated circuit, extractor fans and lighting must be rated for the zone they occupy, and every circuit serving the room requires RCD protection. Supplementary bonding is assessed and installed where the installation needs it.
Part of a Bigger Project?
Kitchen and bathroom work is often the trigger for looking at the rest of the house. If the assessment shows the remaining wiring is tired, it is usually cheaper and less disruptive to deal with it at the same time – see partial rewiring and extensions and renovations.

Kitchen & Bathroom Electrics FAQs
Can you work around my kitchen fitter’s schedule?
Yes. We normally carry out first fix before the units are installed and return for second fix once worktops are in, and we agree the dates with your fitter.
Do I need a separate circuit for an electric shower?
Yes. Electric showers draw a high current and require their own appropriately rated circuit with RCD protection.
Is bathroom electrical work notifiable?
Some bathroom work is notifiable under Part P depending on what is installed and where. We advise on this as part of the quotation and handle any notification required.
