Building Work
Extensions & Renovations in Bristol
Extensions, loft conversions and whole-house renovations are the natural moment to get the electrics right. We design the wiring around the build, work to the builder’s programme and connect new and existing installations safely.

Wiring Designed Around the Build
An extension or conversion is a blank canvas. Rather than extending old circuits into new rooms, we design the new areas properly: enough sockets, lighting circuits that suit the layout, dedicated supplies for kitchens, utility rooms and en-suites, and containment for data, audio-visual and smart-home cabling while the walls are open. Where the extension houses a new kitchen we plan those circuits together with the kitchen electrics.
Fitting In With Other Trades
First fix happens once the structure is up and before plasterboarding; second fix follows plastering and decoration. We attend site meetings where useful, agree positions with you and the builder before cables go in, and keep to the programme so that plasterers and decorators are not held up waiting for us.
Connecting New to Old
New circuits must be fed from a consumer unit capable of protecting them, and the existing installation must be in a condition that allows the connection. In many Bristol renovations the existing consumer unit is replaced as part of the project. Where the assessment shows the original wiring is at the end of its life, extending the project to a full rewire is often far more economical than returning to do it later.

Extensions & Renovations FAQs
When should I involve you in an extension?
As early as possible – ideally at design stage, so that socket, lighting and appliance positions are settled before the drawings are finalised.
Do you work with my builder or directly with me?
Either. We frequently work as a subcontractor to builders and equally often directly for the homeowner alongside the main contractor.
Will Building Control need electrical certificates?
Yes. The completed work is certified and the appropriate documentation is provided for your Building Control sign-off.
