Pricing Guide

How Much Does a House Rewire Cost in Bristol?

There is no meaningful single price for every house rewire. This guide explains what drives the cost so that you can understand a quotation – and why we price from your actual property rather than a table.

What Affects the Price of a Rewire

  • Property size
  • Number of bedrooms
  • Number of circuits
  • Existing electrical condition
  • Property construction
  • Occupied vs vacant property
  • Socket quantity
  • Lighting specification
  • Kitchen requirements
  • Consumer unit requirements
  • Specialist circuits
  • Cable routing
  • Smart-home requirements
  • Data cabling
  • Outdoor electrics
  • EV charger preparation
  • Making-good requirements

Why We Don’t Publish a Price List

Two three-bedroom houses in the same Bristol street can cost very different amounts to rewire. One may be empty, with suspended timber floors and a straightforward layout; the other occupied, with solid floors downstairs, a loft conversion, a large kitchen and a request for extensive lighting. Quoting a headline figure for a “three-bed rewire” would either overcharge the first or badly underestimate the second.

Instead we assess the property, agree the specification with you room by room and provide a written quotation that itemises what is included. You know exactly what you are paying for and what would change the price.

Specification Matters as Much as Size

The number of sockets and lighting points, the type of accessories, whether you want USB outlets, dimming, smart controls, outdoor power, data cabling or EV charger preparation all affect the labour and materials involved. A rewire is the cheapest time to add these things, so we will always ask what you might want in five years, not just today.

Full Rewire Versus Alternatives

Where the assessment shows that a partial rewire or a consumer unit upgrade will achieve what you need, we will say so – it is usually significantly cheaper. Equally, if a partial approach would leave you with a patchwork that needs revisiting, we will explain why a full rewire is better value in the long run.

What a Quotation Includes

Our quotations set out the scope room by room, the consumer unit and protection specified, making good of chases, testing, certification and Building Regulations notification. Anything excluded – final plaster skim or decoration, for example – is stated clearly so that there are no surprises.

Cost Questions

How much does house rewiring cost in Bristol?

Cost depends on your property size, existing condition, specification, and accessibility. We provide a property-specific quotation rather than a generic price.

Do you charge for a quotation?

Please ask when you get in touch – [Quotation Policy]. Where a full condition report is required before quoting, any fee is explained in advance.

Can the price change once work starts?

Only if the scope changes or if something is uncovered that could not reasonably have been seen at assessment. In either case we stop, explain and agree any variation with you before proceeding.

Do you offer payment in stages?

[Payment Terms] – we will explain the payment schedule with your quotation.
